once upon a time in 1991,
the product of two city medics, the Archdioceses, and St. Louis city was made manifest.
Cierra Lowe grew up on The Hill and attended St. Ambrose Catholic School, where she was noticeably un-Italian, then Villa Duchesne for junior high, where she was noticeably urban middle class. Following the sudden loss of her father at fifteen, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rosati-Kain High School for girls in 2010 a card-carrying thespian and recreational heroin user. After sampling various psychiatric and rehabilitation facilities throughout the Midwest, she returned home to attend Webster University. She graduated with honors in 2015, BA in Philosophy double minoring in psychology and religious studies. She has been blessed to enjoy sobriety since this year as well.
Cierra received her Reiki Master & Teacher and Holy Fire attunement in 2016 and has been leisurely practicing energy healing and light work ever since. She self-published her first full-length collection of poetry in 2017, titled “The Horse and the Water.”
While getting her first degree, she attended a local community college’s EMT course (much to the dismay of her mother, who was nearing retirement after thirty years in EMS). She had her daughters in 2016 & 2018, then returned to UMSL for her BSN. She graduated again with honors in 2022, going straight to work as an RN in the largest level one trauma ED in Missouri, where she began the ED RN Wellness Committee and is undeniably good for morale.
Cierra published her second full-length collection in collaboration with Back of the Class Press, “Darken Your Door” (2023). She is currently working on her third.
She is a sucker for a pretty face, other air signs, and an Arizona tea. She is currently immersed in single motherhood, Trader Joe’s scallion pancakes, and crafts involving paper, string, and hot glue. Other hobbies include: enduring friendships, floating down rivers, floral design, classic literature, dresses with pockets, collecting & distributing crystals, appreciating jam bands, decorating with silk scarves, sleeping with fur blankets, donning lingerie, eating fresh fruit, flirting with you, and packing picnic lunches.

Also maybe around Aldi or the garden department of Home Depot—but she might be carrying, who knows. Maybe she’s not even allowed to own firearms. Maybe she has one anyway. Maybe she’s not even allowed in Canada and loves the crunching of bones.
Maybe all of this is just a dream.
